The YMCA of Cecil County hosts a wide variety of energizing & invigorating aerobic classes led by certified, knowledgeable instructors. YMCA Aerobics classes are for every level from beginning calisthenics & intermediate upper body workouts to advanced "boot camp-style" sessions.

Classes are held weekdays during morning &/or evening hours in our state-of-the-art and Aerobics Room with it's terrific shock-absorbing surface & mirrored walls for maximum instruction.  Read on for more information about the individual programs, then check out our seasonal "Aerobics Calendar" by clicking on the link below or in the left side menu.

 

PERSONAL TRAINING
Studies show that people achieve results 30%-70% faster with a qualified trainer. There are a variety of reasons that people use personal trainers and the number one reason is to get results. Our certified trainers can help you break through plateaus, maximize fat burn, develop lean muscles and promote strong bones and joints-building a body that will perform better and last longer. Each month there will be a drawing to receive 4 FREE SESSIONS of Personal Training with one of our certified Personal Trainers. Look for one of the drawing boxes located in several areas in the YMCA. There will be a bio of the trainer for that month. The 4 sessions must be used in a 30 day period. 1 Entry per person. See drawing box for more details!

Starter Package:
4 Week package @ $35 per session.
 
Silver Package:
8 Week package @ $30 per session.
 
Gold Package:
12 Week package @ $25 per session
 
Premium Package:
24 Week package @ $20 per session.
Minimum of 2 sessions per week.
 
THE YOGA EXPERIENCE
 

 Core Yoga:  A class that strengthens the core and relieves tension and stress through breathing techniques, stretching, meditation and Yoga body postures.

 Yoga for Relaxation:  Yoga for Relaxation is a drug free alternative to stress relief. The benefits of yoga also include improved flexibility, injury prevention, The focus of every class is a core opening achieved by releasing tensions in the deepest layers of the body. You will feel the difference after just one class!

 Yoga I & II:  Explore the transformation power of a blend of yoga styles on mind, body and spirit in a supportive environment. Combining levels l & ll.

Yogalates takes the best of both Yoga and Pilates techniques to make the ultimate challenge. The combination of flexibility training from Yoga, the core training from Pilates, and the strength training from both, makes Yogalates a true whole body workout.

S.H.R.E.D. ( NEW ):  Stations, High intensity, Resistance, Endurance, DRIVE. This class is challenging enough for the advance but also simple enough for a beginner. A combination of calisthenics, military style drills and muscular conditioning to provide an easy to follow yet challenging workout. (Same class, new name).

Express Class-Butts & Guts ( NEW ):   A 30 minute sculpting class focusing on the core muscles including abdominal muscles, gluteals, hip flexors and extensors.

Express Class - Instructors Choice ( NEW ):  This 45 minute class will vary consisting of step, circuit, weight training, interval and a lot more. A class designed just to get and keep you moving.

Body Blast ( NEW ):  A full body workout that will "blast" calories and tone muscles with a mix of cardio and strength training.

Sue's Power Flex:   This class is the fastest way to shape up and lose body fat. It is a toning and conditioning class with weights and is for just about everybody who wants to add strength training into their aerobic workout. The great music and simplicity of the class makes it a great starting point to develop strength and confidence. Way better than those other body pumping classes!

Women on Weights:  This 4 week program, is lead by one of our certified Personal Trainers. This class is designed for the beginner or experienced woman. You will learn the proper w workouts and proper usage of machines including technique, repetitions and weight. Summer is just around the corner.

Hoop It Up! :   Come experience this fun and exciting new workout! These are not your kids hula hoops. You do not need to be an experience hula-hooper or even know how to hoop at all. Dawn will teach you things about hula hooping that you did not think possible. This class provides a cardio workout while toning and stretching muscles throughout your whole body. *Hoops are provided.

Ab Attack:  Need to tighten and firm your mid­section? Join us for a quick, but intense, session of deep abdominal exercises. Modifications will be made for beginners.

Strength & Conditioning:   Gym style workout that will strengthen and shape your entire body using proven strength training methods. We'll use a variety of free weights, a resistance band and a step to use as a weight bench. We'll also be doing various body weight exercises like push ups, dips and squats, etc. You will challenge all of your muscles. Class will end with a total body stretch.

Step & Sculpt:  This fast moving class begins with 30 minutes of heart pounding step aerobics. We will then finish the class with 30 minutes of full-body-sculpting.

Cardio Kickboxing:  This is an intense fat­burning workout which will utilize a series of jabs, punches, kicks, plyometrics and easy­to­follow high­intensity footwork. It's a fun & "sweaty" class followed by 15 minutes of intense abdominal work!

Power Pilates:  The Pilates secret is the powerhouse, or the core. Benefits include correcting imbalances, back health, improved posture by realigning the body and building core strength from within. Using an assortment of equipment including but not limited to free weights, gliding disks, Bender balls makes this a more effective and challenging workout. Modifications are shown for all fitness levels.

Zumba:  Inspired by traditional cumbia, salsa, samba and merengue music. Zumba is a combination of Latin rhythms and red hot international dance steps. Zumba is Spanish slang for  "to move fast and have fun".

TRX Suspension Training
 
TRX is great for all fitness levels, health levels and ages. The beauty of this training style is that you are in complete control of the intensity. Suspension training is very simple and easy to master.

THE YMCA OFFERS RACQUETBALL!
The YMCA has two racquetball courts available to members and non-members. Court time can be reserved three days in advance by members only.  Click on: "Adult Sports" for

BODY FAT MEASUREMENT

A great way to gauge progress is through "Body Fat Measurement". This scientific method allows you to evaluate your progress & adjust your routine accordingly!

FEE: $5 Non-Members, FREE for Members.

 
   

All programs have a minimum enrollment and registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis. Fees must be paid upon registration. No refunds of any kind will be given. A pro-rated credit may be issued during the 1st week of class only. Credits may only be processed through the office manager. Make-up classes are only for classes canceled by YMCA. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Classes fill up fast.
