THE YOGA EXPERIENCE
 
Yoga classes are designed to: Promote health & well being, enhance strength and muscle tone, improve spinal alignment, relieve stress and integrate mind, body & spirit.  Wear comfortable clothing, bring yoga mat (or blanket/pillow) Avoid eating two hours before class. Join us!

 Level I Yoga:  An introduction to the fundamentals of yoga for strength, flexibility and stress relief. This class is ideal for beginners & pregnant students!

 Level I / II:  Each class starts with a topic from stress management to meditation. Learn aids in relaxation, breathing, and health maintenance. All levels may join this gentle program.

  TAI CHI
 
This is the Chinese healing martial art system of exercise for physical, emotional, and mental well being. Its relaxing, slow motion movement patterns increase longevity while improving balance, stamina, circulation, concentration, and relaxation. Relieves stress, lowers blood pressure and improves health.
 
Students should wear comfortable clothing.

  YOGALATES
 
A series of pilates style exercises with yoga stretching. This natural combination will sculpt every muscle, increase flexibility and relax you head to toe. The class will teach breathing and focus on core stability. Ideal for beginners through advanced students.

The YMCA of Cecil County hosts a wide variety of energizing & invigorating aerobic classes led by certified, knowledgeable instructors. YMCA Aerobics classes are for every level from beginning calisthenics & intermediate upper body workouts to advanced "boot camp-style" sessions.

Classes are held weekdays during morning &/or evening hours in our state-of-the-art and Aerobics Room with it's terrific shock-absorbing surface & mirrored walls for maximum instruction.  Read on for more information about the individual programs, then check out our seasonal "Aerobics Calendar" by clicking on the link below or in the left side menu.

 
PERSONAL TRAINING
The YMCA's Personal Trainers are competent to address multiple market segments. Whether general conditioning, rehabilitation, or sports conditioning, we cater to your fitness needs. Maybe you just need to add a plyometric jump start to your same old routine or just need to get into a new one. Individuals are given 1 on 1 attention. Included in our training sessions are a combination of plyometric, circuit machines, and free weights (if appropriate).

Box Aerobics:  You will get a kick out of this workout for sure! Join this non-contact class with combination kicks and punches from martial arts and boxing with aerobic movement and drills. This class is sure to be a kick-in-your pants workout!!

Butts-n-Guts:  The name says it all. Don't let this 30 minute class fool you, it is tough and you will see results... This class is good for any level. This is what you call short and sweet!

Step "n" Up:  (NEW) Introducing a fun and exciting challenge for the summer. Using the step in ways you could never imagine. Add that with some conditioning exercises and you have an excellent way to stay in perfect summer form.

Sculpting:  Let the barbeques and beach time begin. Here is a class that will keep you sculpted all summer long. From upper, to lower, to midsection this 1/2 hour class will challenge you and keep you going strong all summer long.

Pump Up the Jam:  This is your hour of power! Strengthen all your major muscles in a high motivating environment with a high energy instructor and high energizing music.Check it out!!

20-20-20:  Here is a great combination for a great workout. 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of abs and 20 minutes of power house conditioning. This class is not for the faint of heart.

Adult Fitness Class:  A fun and unique way to condition the body. Students will learn and practice basic martial arts techniques for upper and lower body. This class is designed to improve flexibility, strengthen muscles, increase stamina, and improve coordination. Students should wear comfortable clothing. No experience necessary.

Cross Training:  This is the ultimate circuit workout combining intervals of cardio drills and muscle conditioning drills. Enjoy the variety of the class that may use jump ropes, boxing drills, relay races and even a little healthy competition. These high-intensity classes will help you to burn between 400-600 calories. Suitable for all levels – but let your instructor know if this is your first time. This circuit class brings you the best drills for improving endurance, cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength.

Early Bird Boot Camp:  Here it is! Your early morning burn. Kick up that metabolism first thing in the morning. Using military, functional and explosive movements, this class will be utilizing all kinds of creative workouts inside and out.

Absolute Abs:  This class is absolutely and unequivocally designed to burn your abs for a solid half-hour. This is a great class to add to your cardio workout. Come and feel the burn.

Core Conditioning:  This is a 45 minute, intense workout, for that working person who wants to get in and get out and back to work. This core training is an integrated approach and combines strength, balance, agility, and flexibility of the muscles that control the entire trunk and spine. Core stability is crucial for any sport or activity.

All programs have a minimum enrollment and registration is accepted on a first come/first serve basis. Fees must be paid upon registration. Two or three day classes cannot be discounted.

No refunds of any kind will be given. A pro-rated credit may be issued during the 1st week of class only. Credits may only be processed through the office manager.
